Your first $1K is closer than you think...
The difference between $0 and $1K is clarity, not clout. Start here.

Making $1,000 online is actually easier than making your first $100.
Triggering but true.
Welcome back to Content to Commas — your weekly playbook to turning content into income and growing your brand (personal or professional).
I’m writing to you this week from LA at Canva Create (side note: if you use Canva to make content, your life is about to get way easier).
But this issue isn’t about that — so if you’re curious, check out my friend Lia Haberman’s newsletter, ICYMI, for the full breakdown.
Now, back to business.
This week, I want to help you get paid for the content you already know how to create.
That first $100 online? It’s awkward. It’s slow. It’s full of second-guessing.
But your first $1K? That’s momentum — and there’s a proven path to get there.
Let’s get to work. 👇🏾
This week, you'll get...
💰️ The $0 to $1K Content Monetization Playbook
Making $100 online is harder than making $1,000.
Why? Because once you figure out what your audience is willing to give you $1 for, it’s just a matter of scaling and repeating.
So, let’s skip the fluff.
If you want to make your first $1,000 online, this is the playbook.
This works because it builds momentum, not perfection.
Step 1: Choose Your Content Vehicle
Before you begin to monetize, you need to know how you’re gonna make money. Here are your three best bets:
→ Monetize your skill – Freelance your knowledge. Offer coaching. Take on consulting calls. If you’re good at something, there’s someone out there willing to pay to shortcut the learning curve.
→ Monetize your expertise – Digital downloads, Notion templates, content audits, Canva kits. These scale easily and don’t require selling your time.
→ Monetize your following – Create content and monetize it with UGC deals, brand partnerships, or affiliate links. You don’t need a huge audience — just a clear niche and a consistent voice.
As always — Pick one to start.
Grab the PDF guide below to learn more.
Step 2: Build a Monetizable Offer
This will take the most time — but it’s the step that unlocks everything.
Don’t overthink it. Your offer should be stupidly simple.
One problem solved. One landing page or link. One clear call to action.
Your job is to answer this:
What does your offer help people do faster, better, or easier?
That’s it. That’s the bar.
You can refine it later. Right now, just get it live.
Done is better than perfect — and perfect doesn’t pay the bills.
Step 3: Turn Attention into Income
You’ve got eyes on your content — now it’s time to make them count.
→ Set up a monetization link in your bio (Linktree, Gumroad, Stan Store, Amazon Storefront, LTK, whatever fits).
→ Offer pointed help — don’t be shy with your CTAs. Try: “DM me ‘audit’ if you want this.”
Once you land your first win?
Screenshot it. Save it. Share it.
Social proof will serve as additional content and drive the key action you want your community to take.
Because proof builds momentum — and momentum builds income.
Step 4: Organic Content Drives Monetization
Organic content should take up 80% of your time. Why?
The content that got you here is what builds trust, grows your audience, and creates the demand.
Never let sales content overpower the value-driven content that earned attention in the first place.
Here’s my rule: More organic posts than promos. Always.
Nobody likes to feel like they’re being marketed to.
So, when you promote your offer, make sure it is authentic and useful alongside your regular posts.
