— Brandon Smithwrick
I used to think health was a “later“ problem. Something I’d deal with once I really made it. But here’s the truth: I build better, think clearer, and operate faster when I take care of myself while building not after.
That’s why I joined Superpower, a proactive health platform that gives you billionaire-level care, without the billionaire-level price tag.
Here’s what you get:
70+ lab markers tested, twice a year.
Concierge support from real humans and AI.
A personalized action plan based on your labs.
Access to high-quality, clinician curated supplements at prices better than Amazon.
I’ve personally been an avid supporter of Superpower since I first joined in November and have recommended it to dozens of my closest friends.
Luckily for you, my readers get the steepest discount available. $100 off for your membership if you sign up in the next 7 days.
Use the code BRANDON100 at checkout.
Health comes first … before money, before success, before anything.
Whether you’re in corporate or building your own business, we all need to get better at prioritizing ourselves. I recently got comprehensive blood work done with Superpower, and while my results came back at 72 out of 100—not terrible—it was a major wake-up call.
Some of the findings were shocking, and they’re already changing how I approach my daily habits and routines.
Over the next two weeks, I’m partnering with Superpower to share this health journey with you. But it’s never fun to go it alone. I’d love for this community to join me so we can become the healthiest creatorpreneurs we can be, together.
💻 Spend Money to Buy Time
We’re officially at the half point of 2025.
And with 6 months left I cannot help but think about the version of me I want to enter 2026.
Health. Business. Growth. You name it.
And as your income grows and bigger opportunities land on your desk, your limiting factor isn’t money anymore … it’s time.
I still only have 24 hours in my day, just like when I was making $40K a year. But now I'm managing brand partnerships, speaking engagements, advisory calls, this newsletter, and about twelve other moving pieces.
If I want to scale without losing my sanity or my marriage, I have to get comfortable with something that feels counterintuitive … spending money to buy time back.
Yet I see most entrepreneurs still grinding like they did when they were earning their first dollar online.
They handle every DM, respond to every email, draft every invoice, and research every speaking engagement themselves.
But you can’t scale solo.
So let’s chat when and how to make your first hire so you can finally let go of control.
Last week, I sat down and mapped out a new personal system to recalibrate how I use my time not just for this quarter, but for the rest of the year.
Here’s a three-phase approach I’m using and you can adapt it today, no matter the size of your business.
Phase 01: Run the “Ideal Team” Test
Even if you’re a team of one, picture your ideal team of ten.
What tasks do you hate but know keep your business running? Could someone else do them with a simple guide? Do they need your unique expertise or just your time?
Here’s a simple exercise:
Make a list of roles you’d hire today if budget wasn’t a constraint—Video Editor, Chief of Staff, Sales Director, Creative Director.
For each role, jot down what tasks they’d own that would free you up to do the work only you can do.
When I started, it was just me. Today, my LLC is a team of three, generating $15K–$30K a month with goals to increase 2X by 2026.
But even before my first hire, I set up a company hub in Notion with a company wiki, rate card, priority list, and roadmap.
That prep saved me weeks of headaches later, and it can do the same for you.
Phase 02: Identify Your “Energy Vampires”
These are the repetitive tasks quietly draining your creative energy every week.
Sending invoices, chasing payments, scheduling social posts, categorizing expenses, or replying to outreach emails.
Choose just one of these energy vampires and write out every step you take to complete it, as if you were teaching it to a new team member.
You’ll spot inefficiencies you never noticed before—and build your first system in the process.
Phase 03: Time-Blocking
If you don’t design your week intentionally, the world will design it for you and it won’t care about your priorities.
Here’s what’s working for me (adapt it to your own rhythms):
Mondays: Admin and planning
Tuesdays: Deep creative work
Wednesdays: Meetings and collaboration
Thursdays: Content creation
Fridays: Outreach and growth
By blocking your time this way, you’re not just scheduling tasks, you’re defending your most valuable resource: your energy.
Time-blocking lets you stay focused, avoid context-switching, and make real progress on the projects that matter most.
The biggest lever for sustainable growth isn’t a shiny new platform or trend it’s buying back your time by systemizing the work that drains you, and investing in the support that energizes you.
You don’t need to hire a massive team overnight.
But you do need to start acting like the CEO of your creator or content business today.
💰 Smart Investments That Buy Back Hours
I’m not promoting splurging recklessly to get more time in day … (so please run the numbers for yourself) … but when you begin to reach new heights, sacricfyricing time isn’t an option.
It actually robs your productivity.
Think of these investments in three levels.
Level 1: Basic Life Admin ($200-500/month)
Meal delivery service: Saves 4-6 hours weekly on shopping and cooking
House cleaning: 3-4 hours monthly back in your calendar
Grocery delivery: 2 hours weekly of driving and shopping eliminated
Level 2: Business Operations ($500-1,000/month)
Virtual assistant: Email management, scheduling, basic research
Bookkeeper: Expense tracking, invoice creation, tax prep
Social media scheduler: Content planning and posting automation
Level 3: Strategic Support ($750-1,500+/month)
Partnerships manager: Brand deal negotiations and management
Content editor: Writing, editing, and formatting support
Fractional CFO: Financial planning and business strategy
My recent hire: A fractional CFO to handle expense tracking, business planning, and keeping my books tidy for tax time. Best decision I've made all year (because I hate and avoid this at all cost). Now I see my entire business like a Fortune 500 company with distinct divisions and business lines.
Your action step: Calculate your hourly rate. Any task someone else can do for less than that? Delegate it.
